One of the most beautiful cats with long hair, Turkish Angora gains followers because of its qualities and characteristics. Distinctive and elegant in its movements, appears that it is ready to pose at all time. It is one of the most beautiful pure breed in the world.

The Turkish Angora is characterized by a less rounded and narrow head compared to the Persian cat to which eventually might be confused, with well proportioned ears, apart and with sharp tips. It has large eyes, well-opened, expressive and colored in blue or other shades of color. The body is robust, well-dressed in muscles, slightly longer than the Persian cat, supported by short but robust limbs. The tail is long and thin, well covered in hair growth. Besides, the body is covered with fine hair, dense and silky, more abundant around the neck, abdomen and tail. Its hair changing is extremely interesting manifesting the phenomenon of angorism and the re-growing is more abundant at the beginning of cold season. The basic color is white but other colors are allowed, and the beauty of these Turkish Angora cats doesn’t decrease at all.

The Turkish Angora is a gentle breed, affectionate, quiet and smart and these external qualities make it more appreciated and sought. It is distinguished by temperament, being a pet which prefers playing in detrimental to rest, even in old age. Extremely adaptable and playful this cat is an excellent choice for families with young children and is a lively companion for the elderly. The Turkish Angora cats accept and tolerate dogs and other animals quickly, but because of their native, dominant nature, often, become the ‘alpha’ animal in the house.

This breed prefers large areas of comfort and it is content to stay in areas with soft ambience than to go outside in the yard or garden. It is however a more sensitive pet and requires a more careful care. First of all avoid bathing, and daily brushing a few minutes is necessary to maintain the coat in appropriate conditions. The average life expectancy of the Turkish Angora is about 14-15 years.
